What is #SmoochPit about?
#SmoochPit is a Twitter event created to showcase pitches from unagented romance authors. This year will be the first of many and we are hopeful to create a romantic movement for the future. The event was created and is moderated by two romance authors, Celia a Nigerian-American, and Busayo a Nigerian-British, who came together and created an avenue for lovers of romance.
When is #SmoochPit held?
It will be held thrice a year, over two days. Please make sure you are pitching your book on the appropriate day; many of the agents and editors will only tune in on a specific day, to see the pitches in the categories they represent/acquire. If agents see a pitch they like, authors will send in queries and go through the normal querying process.
The first event - everyone puts out their pitch to be picked by a potential agent.
The second event - is for those who are seeking mentorship.
The third event - only mentees pitch their work.
